My Current Skincare Routine

January 18, 2018

It's Winter and let's face skin sucks!  It's so dry one day and breaking out the next.  I never know whether to use a cleansing mask or moisturizer!  My skin can be difficult and temperamental so I frequently change my skincare routine.  Not only am I particular about the effectiveness of the products I use, I also care about the ingredients and toxicity of the products I put on my skin.  I will only use all-natural, paraben-free products without harmful chemicals.  I have found several brands and products that fit into that mold so I decided to share that list here.

My Morning Skin Care Routine

Nourishing Cream Exfoliator

I like to wake up in the morning and cleanse with an exfoliator so I can get rid of dead skin cells and have a fresh surface to apply my morning serum.

Illuminating Serum

This is a really lightweight serum that targets dark spots, and dull skin.  It helps to wake up my skin!

Countermatch Eye Rescue Cream

I am SUPER picky about eye cream.  Droopy, wrinkly eyes run in my family so I will spend money on good eye cream.  When I decided to clean up my skincare routine, I found it hard to find an eye cream that met my needs.  This Beauty Counter Eye Rescue Cream has been a life saver!  It helps reduce circles, puffiness and is extremely nourishing.

Tarte H2O Boost

I find it so hard to find a moisturizer that fits my needs...nourishing yet not oily and free of parabens and toxins...Tarte has come through!  I love this H2O Boost because it moisturizes but doesn't make me oily or break out.  A total win!!!!

I use all of the above products before applying my make-up which are all Beauty Counter products.

My Evening Skin Care Routine

Beauty Counter Instant Eye Makeup Remover

I like a really good eye makeup remover that isn't oily and this is the one!

Beauty Counter Charcoal Cleansing Bar

I like to use a cleansing bar that detoxifies and absorbs impurities from the skin that occur from the daily grind.  This bar works perfect yet also nourishes with coconut oil and green tea!

Tula Deep Wrinkle Serum

Let's face it...I want to fight wrinkles as much as possible.  This serum contains all natural ingredients yet improves barrier function and restores volume and elasticity.  I'm in!

Tula Revitalizing Eye Cream

I like a thick, moisturizing and effective eye cream at night.  I feel that's the longest time I leave a product on my skin where I'm not sweating it off or covering it with make-up so it's probably the most effective.  This eye cream has probiotics and really helps with fine lines and wrinkles.  I love it!

My Everyday Products

Primally Pure Natural Deodorant

I love this deodorant!  I sweat horribly when I work out and I'm super picky about deodorant.  Primally Pure has come through on this one!

Primally Pure Natural Lip Balm

If you know me personally, you know I have very full lips...yes, I'm blessed.  My lips also run extremely dry and often peel in winter months.  Before going all-natural with my beauty products, I always used Vaseline Lip Therapy but discovered they are not the best choice.  I started using Primally Pure Deodorant and loved it so I ordered their lip balm and now I'm addicted.   I keep them stashed my bathroom, on the kitchen counter, in my purse, in the car, my gym bag...everywhere!  They are awesome and I love the variety of scents.

Occasional Products I Use

Mama T's Skin Rescue Cream

I stumbled across this company on Instagram and they were sweet enough to send me a sample of their cream...I fell in love!  Their products are tumeric based which is excellent for inflammation.  This cream is perfect for any dry or irritated spots, can be used as lip balm and even as a diaper rash cream.  I put it on my skin and felt a little tingle and it really soothes my dry areas!

CocoKind Matcha Stick

I recently discovered this Matcha Stick.  It is an all-over moisture stick that I use under my eyes and on any dry areas on my face or body.  It's not greasy at all which I love!

Beauty Counter Balancing Facial Oil

A year ago I would have never thought of putting oil on my face.  I was so scared of breakouts and oil build-up so it was not even a thought!  When I tried Beauty Counter, I read about the facial oils and became intrigued.  I ordered this Balancing oil because it was the one product that could deal with combination skin.  It is lightweight, calming and moisturizing but doesn't clog pores.  I love it even when I have breakouts and use it several times a week.

Beauty Counter Balancing Facial Mask

I love a good facial mask but once again, it's really hard to find one without toxins and can moisturize yet clarify at the same time.  Beauty Counter nailed this one and it's one of their best sellers.  I use this mask at least 2-3 times per week and it clarifies my skin without making it over dry.  I have a slight obsession with it!

Yes, I sell Beauty Counter products and you can find my website above (click on it)...but, as you can see, I'm not obsessed with one brand and truly believe in finding the product that works best for you. By no means do I have perfect skin nor do I know all there is to know about skin care but since changing my skincare to "all-natural", I've been reading a lot about it and learned quite a bit.  Having combination skin makes it difficult but I feel I've finally found a balance that works for me.  If you ever have questions or suggestions on products, please let me know!  We can all learn from each other and everyone finds something different that works for you!
