It's no secret that I love Skincare/Beauty products. Being over 40, I really do my best to find all-natural, non-toxic products that treat and enhance my skin and I've tried quite a few brands. Several months ago, while listening to a podcast, I heard about Amara Marie products and ordered their Anti-Aging Vitamin C Serum...it quickly became one of my favorite products! I use the serum every night after cleaning my face and I love the light texture. I started following Amara Marie on Instagram and noticed they were taking application to become an Ambassador and Social Media Partner so I sent in my application and to my surprise, I was selected! I'm so excited to be partnering with this amazing company. One of the main reasons I love their products is that one of their main ingredients in many of their products is Beef Tallow. What does Beef Tallow do? This is straight from their site...
"Beef tallow is the wonderful, healing fat rendered from pasture-raised, grass-fed cows. Human skin cells are made up of mostly fatty acids, so stripping our face of these naturally occurring oils and sebum can have seriously negative consequences. The reason we choose tallow for our skincare products is because it matches up so closely with human skin biology. Human skin is protected by a substance called sebum and, interestingly, tallow closely matches with human sebum when it comes to its fatty acid profile. Therefore, adding in fats and oils to our skin care regiment allows our cells to stay hydrated, healthy and supple. Tallow also contains significant amounts of Conjugated Linoleic Acid which is naturally antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory and has anti-cancer properties. But our favorite reason for making tallow our MVP is because it is 100% non-toxic and safe for everyone from babies, grandparents and pets and everyone in between!"
Amara Marie was gracious enough to send me a box of some of their products and after trying them for a few weeks, I am posting my reviews here…
Tallow Beauty Balm
This is the product I was probably the most excited to try as I’ve heard about it several times. I never imagined putting tallow (a healthy fat) on my face but I’ll try anything! I have extremely combination skin and can go from horrible breakouts to extremely dry, flaky skin within a week…my skin is all over the place. The thing I love about the tallow balm is that it’s good for all kinds of skin. It’s extremely hydrating without clogging pores which is hard to find in a product. This balm can treat acne-prone skin, eczema, rosacea and is good for anyone with sensitivities to fragrance. I have mostly been applying it to my chin to both treat breakouts and dry patches and love how versatile this product it. It’s even been great for dry patches under my eyes!
Soothing Body Butter
I love body butter and use it daily after dry brushing and showering. It’s especially useful for helping dry elbows and knees. Amara Marie’s Body Butter smells fantastic and is so creamy and soft. I have also covered my feet with it, put on a pair of comfy socks and gone to sleep. I wake up with super smooth feet and it’s like an instant pedicure…what a treat! This body butter is so hydrating and a little goes a long way.
Anti-Aging C Serum
This is the first product from Amara Marie that I tried after hearing about it on a podcast I follow (I started using it long before I became an ambassador). I’m always looking for a new facial serum that works so I thought I’d give it a try. I’ve been using it about 2 months and I love it! It has changed my skin so much and now I have a glow. No joke…my husband asked me the other day what I was doing different to my skin and the Vitamin C Serum and Beauty Balm are really the only products I have changed in my routine…My skin is loving them! The serum has definitely evened out my skin tone and reduced the pigmentation I have from sun damage. I use it every night after I clean my face. Give it a try!
Peppermint Lip Butter
I have mentioned in previous posts regarding skincare products that I have very full and extremely chapped lips. A few months ago, I started using Beauty Counter’s Lip Conditioner and it works really well but Amara Marie sent me their Peppermint Lip Butter and I’m hooked! AM’s Lip Butter is just a bit thicker than BC’s Lip Conditioner which is what my chapped lips need. Also, the peppermint scent is very subtle and gives my lips a slight tingle and makes them feel medicated. This product is extremely soothing and perfect for my chronically chapped lips!
Goat’s Milk Bar Soap and Charcoal Soap
Years ago, I used Bath & Body Works Body Wash in the shower until I transitioned to non-toxic skincare products. I have since become addicted to charcoal soap and have used soaps made by my local CSA and also Beauty Counter and love them all. Amara Marie’s Charcoal Soap is no different and is extremely creamy and hydrating. I love charcoal soap because it it’s nourishing to the skin, helps to detoxify the body and doesn’t clog pores. I use it every day in the shower, to cleanse my face at night and I love the scent of this bar.
As for the Goat’s Milk Bar, this is one I had never tried until I received it from Amara Marie and I have to say, I love it! It leaves my skin silky smoothe, is extremely hydrating and smells so good…I love the scent of essential oils! I use it in the shower after my workout when I need extra moisture in my skin. You can definitely alternate between both the charcoal bar and the goat’s milk bar to really balance out your skin.
So, there you are, my review of Amara Marie products. I give everything a thumbs up and not just because I’m an ambassador but because I truly stand behind these products. I’m extremely passionate about all-natural, non-toxic skincare and beauty products. If you only eat organic, clean foods, why would you put toxic products on your skin? Amara Marie products are infused with essential oils, beef tallow, coconut and olive oil, goat’s milk, etc. which are all sustainable ingredients. Their price points are extremely affordable which is a huge plus when using non-toxic products. I highly recommend them!!!
